Climate
Standing on the Cantabrian coast, Muskiz - like the rest of the province of Bizkaia - enjoys mild temperatures and abundant rainfall. This is known as a wet temperate climate with no dry season. Winters are mild, the summers are not excessively hot and humidity is relatively high. Muskiz enjoys a mild coastal climate, with abundant coulds and lush green vegetation.
Indeed, the climate is one of the major attractions for people coming to the coast from warmer areas.

Relief
The low mountains form part of the Cantabrian coastal range. The contrast between hill and beach gives Muskiz its own characteristic appeal. Less than half of the municipality's coastline is lined with beach. There are also steep cliffs, with unusual natural features, as can be seen in the Itsaslur Park.
The highest peak is Pico Mello (626 m, 2054 ft.) in the south of the municipality. Other important hills include Peña Corbera (361 m, 1184 ft.), Pico Carrascal (269 m, 883 ft.), Pico Ramos (229 m, 751 ft.) and Janeo (203 m, 666 ft.)
