History
The Barbadun Pelota School was founded in 1967 to promote pelota in Muskiz. It achieved its aims and soon after opening had become one of the leading pelota schools in the Encartaciones area.
In recent years, the school has won awards at numerous events. At the Bizkaia 1998 championships, the school won a large number of awards in the Under-10 and Under-12 categories..
The school also tries to promote the sport, and organises professional tournaments (Official First Class Professional Championship). It has made a name for itself well beyond Muskiz, with extensive coverage in the media, and matches televised on leading TV stations such as ETB, Tele5 and TVE.

The school board is chaired by Juan Antonio Rojo. The other members of the board are:
• Francisco Miguel Barrio (Deputy Chair).
• Juan Carlos Torres (Secretary).
• Antonio Miguel (Treasurer).
The school currently has 300 members. The offices are at the Donibane Ball Court.
